Making a gratitude list for the past year and faith goals for the new year is a good way to reflect on our lives and renew our commitments.
2018: One great training ground!
Being grateful for all the trials and blessings of 2018!
2018 has been a great training ground for me!! I had breakthroughs, discovered new spiritual gifts, and a lot of learnings! Indeed, last year played a major role in my spiritual journey. With this I was encouraged to make a gratitude list to look back and remember how God has been faithful to me in my ups and downs..
In my Bible-reading, I’ve encountered the story of Samuel where he reminded again the Israelites to take time to consider the great things God has done for them.
“But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” – 1 Samuel 12:24
Let’s take time to remember all the things God did for us, may it be big or small. All of us may have encountered and experienced unfortunate things last year. But in every situation we are in, there is always a good and positive thing to look at. A pastor friend told me that it takes faith to see the good things in people or in a situation.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” – Psalm 107:1
When I made my gratitude list in each month I was amazed on all the great things God has done in my life. Truly He provided, protected, comforted, blessed and cared for me and my family throughout the year.
Moving Forward in 2019
Making faith goals for 2019
Like the apostle Paul, I’m encouraged once more to make goals that I believe will glorify God. This year I’m hoping and looking forward to a lot of things. I’ve set my financial goals, health goals, realational, and spiritual goals. Of course in all of these, I would pray and consult Him in every decisions, plans, and actions I want to make this 2019.
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 3:13-14
Let’s move forward in this new year with gratefulness in our hearts and faith that God’s plan for us is to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
As you write your gratitude list for 2018 and faith goals in 2019, remember that the Lord we love and serve is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
